Hur mycket får man betala om tullen tar en? får man behålla snuset i så fall?

Jag har åkt regelbundet sedan 1977 och bara åkt in i tullen en gång.

Borde ju bli en hel del böter alla fall när jag anländer...dom tilllåter ju 250 g tobak... Men sen är det ju många som beställer snus från sverige och det verkar ju passera, så fan vet?

Ta det i handbagaget för det kollas aldrig av tullen, inte i det incheckade bagaget....

Sist vi gick genom tullen så kollade då slumpvis väskorna sambons väskor blev röntgade men inte mina och det va väl tur de 555

Första gången som jag se att dom kollar väskor kanske har blivit allt vanligare nu för tiden vad vet jag

Ibland kör dom var tionde väska över bandet, men inte handbagaget.

Sen är det uppehåll för somtam i flera timmar innan dom tar upp verksamheten i en kvart till.

Do NOT Exceed Duty Free Allowance - Lesson Learned!

I see it has been asked many times in the past re duty free allowances and purchasing alcohol and cigarettes prior to arriving in Thailand, so just thought I would share our stupidity and give visitors more of a warning when it comes to duty free allowances in Thailand.

This is based on my own recent experience on arrival to Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok where we had a stopover in Dubai airport and with a few hours to spare, decided to do some airport shopping. We purchased confectionery, make up products and cigarettes - 800 cigarettes to be precise. Ironically I don't smoke but my friend is a very heavy smoker and as the cigarettes are quite cheap in Dubai compared to home, we purchased them thinking 'sure they're for personal use so it will be fine'!

Well obviously how stupid and it was far from fine.... as we collected our baggage and headed out of arrivals at Suvarnabhumi Airport, we were approached by a customs officer and asked to accompany him to the checking area where they asked us if we had purchased any duty free and proceeded to go through our bags as standard. We admitted that we had purchased goods and they were for personal use but obviously that doesn't matter as exceeding the duty free limits is just that, regardless of who the goods are for.

They advised us that we had exceeded the allowance and would have to pay a penalty and then took us off to the customs office within the airport. Thinking a penalty was going to be something like a slap on the wrist or a small fine and them confiscating the goods... well how wrong we were!

We ended up at the customs office in the airport for over two hours, were they went through the rules and regulations, called our embassy, had the cigarettes confiscated and were then fined a staggering EUR 1,000!!!!

We were told we could pay the fine immediately or be brought to the Thai Police station were we could lodge a complaint but it wouldn't really help as we had broken the law. Involving the Thai Police, I've no doubt would just have meant even more trouble and more money to be paid out, so we had no choice but to bite the bullet and pay up and accept our stupidity!

While we were in the customs office, they had brought in approx 10-15 other people who were also being fined for exceeding the duty free allowances on various produce, some with less and some with more, meaning huge fines.

So lesson learned on our part and also a warning to others that it is NOT wise to exceed the duty free allowances whether it be Thailand or anywhere else....

Ut över det är det 2000 Bath i böter.

Samma som cigg 1 limpa ok,men har du 2 limpor så blir det 2000 bath i böter för den andra limpan.

Tack,ett bra svar. 2000b i böter var ju inte så farligt om an får behålla snuset.

Då var det ju Thaksins syrras regering och allt gick väl i fickorna

Detta hände för 8-10 år sedan. En kompis till mig och hans sällskap om 4 personer kom till Thailand och han var den enda som rökte och bar på 4 limpor cigaretter, han blev inkallad i tullen, kollad och bötfälld med 16000 Baht och av med cigaretterna, det hjälpte inte att kompisen förklarade att de var 4 personer och 4 limpor, för det var han som bar på dem.

Vi reser ju oftast Direkt till Chiang Rai innan vi hämtar ut väskorna.

I Chiang Rai så är det inte så många internationella passagerare som anländer så där kollas man definitivt, alla kollin röntgas numera.

Så jag måste faktiskt ta reda på vad som inte är godkänt att ta in. Eftersom man inte har så mycket kläder

så blir det ju att skafferiet rensas när man skall iväg, och det som är ätbart åker med. Men det är inte populärt förstår jag.

Vad som i övrigt är en synd att ta med vet jag inte, men någon här kanske har en lista?

Tanten hade verktyg för några tusen kr. senast hon for ner, hon hade glömt koden till väskan också, sa hon och låtsades svära över mig.

Men det gick bra för "tanterna" var inte hungriga den dagen.
