Där kan man ju ställa frågan hur många som faktiskt stängdes ute av demonstranterna, själv tror jag att dom flesta som stängdes ute gjorde det på grund av militärens avspärrningar i försök att "svälta" ut demonstranterna och senare för att hindra folk ifrån att se och filma när massakrerna inleddes och för att hindra att inte mer "oskyldiga" personer än nödvändigt dog och skadades när attackerna inleddes, demonstranterna hade nog helst sett att folk kunde komma och gå till demonstrations området helt fritt.

Själv tyckte jag bara att PAD och överklassens minoritets demonstration bara var pinsam, att se rika äldre damer dignade av guld sitta och svettas på marken med sin dyra franska mascara rinnande i ansiktet, det var första gången i mitt liv som jag såg en demonstration ifrån överklassen och rojalisterna av denna typen, dom har givetvis samma rätt som andra i samhället att demonstrera sitt missnöje mot den förda politiken, men när det övergick i vandalisering av TV stationer och ockupation av landets största flygplatser gick man över en gräns som borde ha varit straffbar, men förmodligen gör deras klasstillhörighet att dom har åtalsimmunitet och kan bete sig i princip hur dom vill och bryta vilka lagar om helst.

Att PAD och rojalisterna skulle ha väntat tills nästa val om dom ville byta regering är ju egentligen självklart, det är ju på det sättet som man byter regeringar i demokratiska länder, och var Thaksin verkligen så impopulär som dom gula påstod så hade ju nästa val blivit hans garanterade avgång.

Och där har du fel igen.

Jag träffade bl.a. den finska ambassadören. Hon tvingades stänga ambassaden och flytta den till sitt hem. Anledningen var att de som skulle besöka ambassaden var så rädda för de hotfulla vakterna till de rödas gäng (som t.o.m. ibland krävde betalt för att folk skulle få passera). Det hade inget alls med soldaterna.

Efter belägringen var över och ambassadpersonalen kunde gå tillbaka så genomförde man genomsökning av bl.a. parkeringsplatserna. Där hittades bomber applicerade under bilar och på andra försåtliga ställen, detta på platser som de röda hade kontroll över.

Inga problem, jag tror de flesta upplysta personer har lite förståelse för att de förtryckta thailändarna vill opponera

Du missuppfattade som vanligt, det jag menade var att om dom hade tillhört överklassen så hade förmodligen inget hänt, I Thailand finns det ingen likhet inför lagen tillhör du överklassen kommer du undan med nästan vad som helst, och för underklassen är det precis det motsatta förhållandet.

Njae nu är du i den där lögnen igen, både misshandeln på sjukhuset ovh tv stationen utfördes av herrar med röda tröjor, eller så har jag missat vissa händelser och då kan du väl vara snäll och ge mig en länk till det du skriver om.

A day of chaos as PAD launches decisive act to topple the government

In what was seen as a final act of �do or die�, the anti-government People�s Alliance for Democracy this morning seized the national television station, laid siege to the Government House and some ministries on the Rajdamnoen Road and blocked major road arteries in the North, Northeast and the South.

PAD core leader Maj-Gen Chamlong Srimuang announced this morning at Makkawan Rangsan bridge that he is ready to be arrested, saying that if he was arrested it means that the government is defeated.� He also urged the police to release some 80 PAD supporters detained by the police for breaking into the NBT television station, formerly Channel 11 of the Public Relations Department.

About 80 men, thought to be members of the PAD, broke into the NBT television station early this morning and managed to seize control of the station.� Staff members of the NBT were told to leave the office.� The intruders were however arrested by police.� Eventually however, PAD followers laid siege to the station and managed to black out the broadcast.�

About 100 policemen were sent to NBT building compound to control the situation. The police searched and found weapons, including guns and knifes, under the possession of the PAD supporters, who were sent to the border patrol police�s headquarters in Phathum Thani for questioning. Police said the PAD members will face charges of destroying state property, invading state offices at night time without permission and illegally possessing of weapons.

NBT acting director Suriyong Hoontasarn said in a live interview this morning that PAD members wanted to stop operations of NBT and radio Thailand station. He vowed to try his best to continue operations of NBT to provide accurate information to the general public.

In the meantime, about 1,000 PAD supporters, led by core leader Somsak Kosaisuk, are now rallying in front of NBT TV station on Vibhawadi Rangsit road causing heavy traffic congestion in the area. They sealed off the TV station, blocking staff from entering to perform duties.

National police bureau deputy spokesman Pol Maj Gen Surpon Thuanthong said police had tried to negotiate with protest core leaders to open way for traffic flow, but the attempts failed.

Mr Somsak admitted that PAD had sent its �Sriwichai warriors� to seize NBT because the TV station is a national asset by it misused to attack PAD by a pro-government group. He claimed that PAD just wanted to take back the country�s asset.

PAD's protests escalated after the Constitutional Court found Samak guilty of violating a law which prohibts government ministers from receiving salary from another job. Airport seizures

On the evening of Tuesday 25 November 2008, the PAD executed what they called "Operation Hiroshima."^{[size=2][58][/size]} A convoy of hundreds of armed PAD members dressed in yellow blocked the two ends of the road in front of the terminal building of Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok's main airport and an important regional hub and blockaded the main road to the airport, aiming at resisting the landing of the prime minister's flight. . PAD forces quickly overpowered hundreds of policemen armed with riot gear. PAD leaders mounted a mobile stage and proceeded to criticize the government. PAD members armed with clubs, iron bars and knives, with some wearing black balaclavas,^{[size=2][59][/size]} then entered the terminal, much to the surprise of the thousands of travellers inside.

PAD forces also forced their way into the control tower, demanding the flight plan for Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat's return from the APEC summit in Peru. Somchai flew into Bangkok Don Muang airport on the evening of 25 November 2008 before flying on to Chiang Mai. After hours of turmoil, the Airports of Thailand, AOT, eventually decided that all Suvarnabhumi flights were suspended, leaving thousands of travelers stranded in the airport.,^{[size=2][60][/size][size=2][61][/size]} this action led to the official closure of the airport later.

The government called on the Royal Thai Army to restore order at the airport.^{[size=2][62][/size]} The Army did not follow the orders. In a press conference on 26 November, Army Commander General Anupong Paochinda proposed that the PAD withdraw from the airport and that the government resign. He also proposed that if the PAD did not comply, that they be subject to "social sanctions", whereas if the government did not comply, that the bureaucracy stop implementing government orders. A written copy of the proposal was sent to the government. Neither the PAD or the government complied with the proposal.^{[size=2][63][/size]}

At 4:30 AM on the morning of 26 November, three explosions were heard on the fourth floor of Suvarnbumi on the outside of the passenger terminal. Another explosion was reported at 6 AM. Several people were injured. It was not clear who set off the explosions.^{[size=2][64][/size]} The PAD did not allow the police or forensics experts to investigate the explosions.^{[size=2][65][/size]}

Also on 26 November, the Civil Court issued an injunction ordering the PAD to leave the Suvarnabhumi International Airport immediately.^{[size=2][66][/size]} Notices of the injunction were placed on the front doors of the houses of the 13 PAD leaders.^{[size=2][67][/size]} The PAD did not comply with the injunction.

On the evening of 27 November, the government declared a state of emergency around the two occupied airports and ordered police to clear out PAD forces. The state of emergency allowed the military to ban public gatherings of more than five people. The Navy was assigned to aid police at Suvarnabhumi, while the Air Force was assigned to aid police at Don Muang. The Army's spokesman noted, "The army disagrees with using troops to resolve the problem. The army does not want to do that, and it is not appropriate to do that."^{[size=2][68][/size]}

The PAD was defiant. PAD leader Suriyasai Katasila announced that the PAD would fight off police. "If the government wants to clear the protesters, let it try. The PAD will protect all locations because we are using our rights to demonstrate peacefully without causing damages to state properties or rioting," Suriyasai said.^{[size=2][69][/size]} Suriyasai also threatened to use human shields if police attempted to disperse the PAD.^{[size=2][70][/size]}

On the morning of 28 November, PAD leader Chamlong Srimuang announced to PAD forces that he had received a call from an unspecified "senior person" (ผู้ใหญ่ท่านหนึ่ง) telling him to end the rallies. But he refused to do what the senior person told him. "For the past 108 days, the Alliance has protested together under hardship, while another group of people has remained in comfort. They can't just suddenly ask us to stop protesting," he told the assembled forces.^{[size=2][71][/size]} Addressing supporters on ASTV, Sondhi said, "If we have to die today, I am willing to die. This is a fight for dignity."^{[size=2][72][/size]}

Police manned checkpoints on roads leading to the airport. At one checkpoint, police found 15 home-made guns, an axe, and other weapons in a Dharma Army six-wheel truck taking 20 protesters to Suvarnabhumi airport.^{[size=2][73][/size]} One checkpoint, about 2 kilometers from the airport, was attacked by armed PAD forces in vehicles, causing the police to withdraw. Police Senior Sgt Maj Sompop Nathee, an officer from the Border Patrol Police Region 1, later returned to the scene of the clash and was detained by PAD forces. He was interrogated by Samran Rodphet, a PAD leader, and then detained inside the airport. Reporters and photographers tried to follow Sompop to his interrogation, but PAD forces did not allow them.^{[size=2][74][/size]} PAD supporters were moved from Government House to the airport.^{[size=2][75][/size]}

With the exception of one airplane leaving for the Hajj, no flights with passengers were allowed for eight days.^{[size=2][76][/size]} The PAD was apologetic to inconvenienced travelers in the airports and offered them food.^{[size=2][77][/size]}

Shortly after the Constitutional Court dissolved the three parties of the government coalition on 2 December 2008, the PAD held a press conference where they announced that they were ending all of their protests as of 10 AM local time (GMT 7+) on 3 December 2008.^{[size=2][78][/size]} "We have won a victory and achieved our aims," said Sondhi Limthongkul.

PAD's protests escalated after the Constitutional Court found Samak guilty of violating a law which prohibts government ministers from receiving salary from another job. PAD forces surrounded Parliament and used razor wire barricades to prevent the legislature from meeting to hear Samak's replacement, Thaksin's brother-in-law Somchai Wongsawat, formally announce his policies. Police dispersed the protesters, resulting in hundreds of injuries and the death of a young woman, all caused by the explosions of Chinese-made tear gas grenades, which the poorly trained police fired directly at the protestors.^{[size=2][13][/size]} As a result, the PAD formally renounced non-violence and vowed bloody revenge.^{[size=2][14][/size][size=2][15][/size]} In November, the PAD blockaded Parliament prior to a crucial legislative session, used hijacked public buses to take control of the government's provisional offices at Don Muang Airport, and seized control of Suvarnabhumi International Airport.^{[size=2][16][/size][size=2][17][/size][size=2][18][/size]} Yellow Shirts in Chiang Mai pulled a 60-year-old man from his car and shot and killed him.^{[size=2][19][/size]} The PAD also threatened to lay siege to the seaports of the Eastern Seaboard.^{[size=2][20][/size]} The PAD's sieges and protests ended after the Constitutional Court dissolved the PPP, banned its leaders from politics, and Army Commander Anuphong Phaochinda pressured many PPP MPs to defect to the Democrat Party and elect Abhisit Vejjajiva as Premier.^{[size=2][21][/size]} PAD co-leader Kasit Piromya was appointed Foreign Minister in the new government.

Airport seizures

On the evening of Tuesday 25 November 2008, the PAD executed what they called "Operation Hiroshima."^{[size=2][58][/size]} A convoy of hundreds of armed PAD members dressed in yellow blocked the two ends of the road in front of the terminal building of Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok's main airport and an important regional hub and blockaded the main road to the airport, aiming at resisting the landing of the prime minister's flight. . PAD forces quickly overpowered hundreds of policemen armed with riot gear. PAD leaders mounted a mobile stage and proceeded to criticize the government. PAD members armed with clubs, iron bars and knives, with some wearing black balaclavas,^{[size=2][59][/size]} then entered the terminal, much to the surprise of the thousands of travellers inside.

PAD forces also forced their way into the control tower, demanding the flight plan for Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat's return from the APEC summit in Peru. Somchai flew into Bangkok Don Muang airport on the evening of 25 November 2008 before flying on to Chiang Mai. After hours of turmoil, the Airports of Thailand, AOT, eventually decided that all Suvarnabhumi flights were suspended, leaving thousands of travelers stranded in the airport.,^{[size=2][60][/size][size=2][61][/size]} this action led to the official closure of the airport later.

The government called on the Royal Thai Army to restore order at the airport.^{[size=2][62][/size]} The Army did not follow the orders. In a press conference on 26 November, Army Commander General Anupong Paochinda proposed that the PAD withdraw from the airport and that the government resign. He also proposed that if the PAD did not comply, that they be subject to "social sanctions", whereas if the government did not comply, that the bureaucracy stop implementing government orders. A written copy of the proposal was sent to the government. Neither the PAD or the government complied with the proposal.^{[size=2][63][/size]}

At 4:30 AM on the morning of 26 November, three explosions were heard on the fourth floor of Suvarnbumi on the outside of the passenger terminal. Another explosion was reported at 6 AM. Several people were injured. It was not clear who set off the explosions.^{[size=2][64][/size]} The PAD did not allow the police or forensics experts to investigate the explosions.^{[size=2][65][/size]}

Also on 26 November, the Civil Court issued an injunction ordering the PAD to leave the Suvarnabhumi International Airport immediately.^{[size=2][66][/size]} Notices of the injunction were placed on the front doors of the houses of the 13 PAD leaders.^{[size=2][67][/size]} The PAD did not comply with the injunction.

On the evening of 27 November, the government declared a state of emergency around the two occupied airports and ordered police to clear out PAD forces. The state of emergency allowed the military to ban public gatherings of more than five people. The Navy was assigned to aid police at Suvarnabhumi, while the Air Force was assigned to aid police at Don Muang. The Army's spokesman noted, "The army disagrees with using troops to resolve the problem. The army does not want to do that, and it is not appropriate to do that."^{[size=2][68][/size]}

The PAD was defiant. PAD leader Suriyasai Katasila announced that the PAD would fight off police. "If the government wants to clear the protesters, let it try. The PAD will protect all locations because we are using our rights to demonstrate peacefully without causing damages to state properties or rioting," Suriyasai said.^{[size=2][69][/size]} Suriyasai also threatened to use human shields if police attempted to disperse the PAD.^{[size=2][70][/size]}

On the morning of 28 November, PAD leader Chamlong Srimuang announced to PAD forces that he had received a call from an unspecified "senior person" (ผู้ใหญ่ท่านหนึ่ง) telling him to end the rallies. But he refused to do what the senior person told him. "For the past 108 days, the Alliance has protested together under hardship, while another group of people has remained in comfort. They can't just suddenly ask us to stop protesting," he told the assembled forces.^{[size=2][71][/size]} Addressing supporters on ASTV, Sondhi said, "If we have to die today, I am willing to die. This is a fight for dignity."^{[size=2][72][/size]}

Police manned checkpoints on roads leading to the airport. At one checkpoint, police found 15 home-made guns, an axe, and other weapons in a Dharma Army six-wheel truck taking 20 protesters to Suvarnabhumi airport.^{[size=2][73][/size]} One checkpoint, about 2 kilometers from the airport, was attacked by armed PAD forces in vehicles, causing the police to withdraw. Police Senior Sgt Maj Sompop Nathee, an officer from the Border Patrol Police Region 1, later returned to the scene of the clash and was detained by PAD forces. He was interrogated by Samran Rodphet, a PAD leader, and then detained inside the airport. Reporters and photographers tried to follow Sompop to his interrogation, but PAD forces did not allow them.^{[size=2][74][/size]} PAD supporters were moved from Government House to the airport.^{[size=2][75][/size]}

With the exception of one airplane leaving for the Hajj, no flights with passengers were allowed for eight days.^{[size=2][76][/size]} The PAD was apologetic to inconvenienced travelers in the airports and offered them food.^{[size=2][77][/size]}

Shortly after the Constitutional Court dissolved the three parties of the government coalition on 2 December 2008, the PAD held a press conference where they announced that they were ending all of their protests as of 10 AM local time (GMT 7+) on 3 December 2008.^{[size=2][78][/size]} "We have won a victory and achieved our aims," said Sondhi Limthongkul.

Flights from Suvarnabhumi resumed on 4 December, when a Thai Airways flight departed for Sydney, Australia.^{[size=2][79][/size]} Thai Airways expected to have five other international flights departing on 4 December and 5 December to New Delhi, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Seoul, and Copenhagen.^{[size=2][79][/size]} Passengers for these flights had to check in at a convention centre outside the airport.^{[size=2][79][/size]}

Democrat Party MP for Sukhothai, Samphan Benchaphon, said of the airport seizure that the PAD "have the right to do it." Democrat Party MP for Bangkok, Thawil Praison, said that the PAD "could seize the airport and doing so is not excessive. The entire world understands that this is a normal matter in the struggle of democratic countries."^{[size=2][80][/size]}

The governments of China, France, New Zealand, Singapore, Britain, the United States, Australia, and Japan warned their citizens to avoid Thailand and steer clear of protesters at the airport.^{[size=2][81][/size]}

The European Union urged the protesters to peacefully leave the airports. EU ambassadors to Thailand wrote in a joint statement that the demonstrators are hurting Thailand's image and economy, continuing "While respecting the right of protesting and without interfering in any way with the internal political debate in Thailand, the EU considers that these actions are totally inappropriate".^{[size=2][82][/size][size=2][83][/size]}

US State Department spokesman Gordon Duguid said that occupying the airports was "not an appropriate means of protest" and that the PAD should "walk away from the airports peacefully."

Sen att verkliga bevis har med saken att göra, behöver inte medföra att den andra sidan ska gå fri.

Jag har väldigt svårt att förstå att man kan försvara och bagatellisera att beväpnade männisskor ockuperar flygplatser, TV stationer och statliga byggnader därför att dom har förlorat ett demokratiskt och av omvärlden godkänt val, och för att dom ogillar den politik som landets folkvalda regering har fått majoritet för.

Man får allt lära sig att vem som regerar avgörs via röstning i val och acceptera detta även om man tillhör överklassen.

Jag har väldigt svårt att förstå att man kan försvara och bagatellisera att beväpnade männisskor ockuperar flygplatser, TV stationer och statliga byggnader därför att dom har förlorat ett demokratiskt och av omvärlden godkänt val, och för att dom ogillar den politik som landets folkvalda regering har fått majoritet för.

Man får allt lära sig att vem som regerar avgörs via röstning i val och acceptera detta även om man tillhör överklassen.

Jag har inga problem med att myndigheterna ingriper mot folk som begår olagligheter.Precis som de gjorde i Bangkok.Skillnaden var väl att de röda använde våld och hets för att mana de sina att förstöra byggnader och vapen och molotovcoktails för att bränna ner Bangkok.Även andra byggnader eldades väl upp i andra städer.Och i och med detta utsatte många människor för extrem fara för sina liv.Våld föder våld är ju en känt uttryck och det stämde bra här.
