Revision of the Visa Exemption Scheme Regulation

In compliance with the new visa exemption regulation issued by the Ministry of Interior dated 26 May 2016, nationals entitled to a 30-days visa exemption (as indicated in the list below) are eligible to enter Thailand without visa through land border checkpoints only twice a calendar year. The entering through international airports will not be affected by this regulation. The implementation of this regulation will start from 31 December 2016. The limitation from this regulation does not apply to Malaysian nationals. Nationals of the following countries/territory entitled to a 30-days visa Exemption: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, The Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Singapore, Slovak, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and United States of America. ************************

Det blir 4 resor för min del då ja har två pass. Ett svenskt och ett österrikisk. Fast jag brukar åka till Thailand bara 2 gånger om året.

Sedan kan man ju alltid fixa visum.

Helt klart något att tänka på, när man som jag brukar åka ut och förlänga min 30 dagars period i Burma. Har man gjort det en gång så blir det till att fixa visa nästa resa till Thailand det året. 

 

Om man bodde i närheten av Ambassaden hade det inte haft så stor betydelse. Men för oss som bor långt ifrån har det varit händigt som det varit, fram till nu.

En nyhet till! Man ska tydligen få 30 dagar när man passerar en gränsövergång landvägen men max 2 gånger per år.

 

"From 31st Dec 2016, 37 additional nations will now be granted a 30-day visa exemption, instead of 15 days, when entering Thailand via a land border.

The news came as the ruling allowing only two entries into the Kingdom at a land border crossing per year came into force.

In addition to passport holders of Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Laos, Macao, Mongolia, Russia, UK and USA – who are granted 30 days visa exemption arriving by both land and air – now the following 37 nation also qualify for 30 days at land borders to match arrival by air:
